What OS are YOU???
Which OS are You? Interestingly enough, I actually started Linux with Slackware. I use Debian now, but hey… it’s a bbspot quiz, so who cares what it actually means?

It appears that my laptop is back up and running again, and in better form than before! I went ahead & reinstalled everything, and after finally remembering that XFree86 4+ doesn’t work at all on this system, I’ve got XWindows up and running, and I’ve even got a browser that doesn’t kill my poor Pentium-90 system. Heck, I’m even writing this post from it right now! Mozilla Firebird. Check it out. It takes a little time to start up, but once it’s running it’s lightning-fast. And it uses the Mozilla rendering engine, so it’s got support for just about everything that’s out there on the net (except for MNG/JNG, but that’s a huge debate I don’t want to get into right now). ...
No real updates today; once I get home from work, I start 2 glorious days off of work, IN A ROW! If I think of something cool, I might post, but don’t hold your breath until you turn blue or anything…
On any normal Sunday, about this time, I’d be either thinking about (1) heading to bed, or (2) popping in another movie to watch. But I’m doing a favor for a friend, and I’m at work instead. And boy is it boring. I’ve read through two separate Fark flamewars, I’ve read the lyrics for Alice’s Restaurant, and I finished off that “Alice in Math Land” thesis too. By the way, it’s pretty interesting reading, since it’s a fairly intense math thesis, written with an apparent target audience of children. I think more kids should learn combinatory mathematics before they’re out of grammar school. ...
Some more links, for when I get around to compiling my actual shopping list: Another from /. Yet another from /. And one from Tom’s Hardware. That should keep me occupied for at least a few hours. Now back to that “Alice in the Yellow Pig’s Mathland”.
And I think I need to update my toolkit, since it’s kinda strewn about my home office right now. this page will help a bit, I think…
Seeing as I’ve posted more in the last week than I did during any 7-day period while the “original” devlogic.org was up (including the first week), I think this site will become the “real” devlogic.org, and the “Original” devlogic.org will go the way of New Coke: popular in Europe for a while, and eventually phased out of existence.
I’m going to have to devote some time to reading this. It looks interesting, and I’ve read the first chapter (and a bit of the second one). I found it nearly by accident; I was looking for logic puzzles, and Lewis Carroll wrote quite a few(including a bunch of syllogisms). I guess google is both useful AND fun.
jeez, I’m bored. it seems like I only put entries on here while I’m at work, too. I wonder why that is. Anyway, on the board for tomorrow (once I get home and sleep): try out that Wacom/Xinerama fix go see Gigantic (A Tale of Two Johns) uh… I can’t think of anything else. oh, yeah: burn off more CDs. my /opt partition (where /opt/news_download/burn lives) is WAY too full. Tonight, I think I’ll watch a few episodes of Alias (assuming it stays slow *touch wood*). I’m about halfway through season 1, and season 3 starts in September. ...
The fun stuff I’m learning to do in the gimp… Now I just need to work on finding good backgrounds to replace the old ones.
