Tasty dinner for “Valentine’s Day (observed)”

So long story short, too many conflicts in our personal lives existed last week for Heather and me to actually have a Valentine’s dinner on Valentine’s day. So we did it on Saturday instead! Everything went off perfectly, except I might have over-estimated the amount of time certain dishes took to cook.

Anyway, there aren’t any pictures because I don’t have a digital camera that’s worth a hill of beans, but here’s the menu; recipes are available upon request, but aren’t printed here because I just stole ’em all off of various web sites.

Creamy Tomato Bisque (which apparently is VERY close to the one that you can get at La Madeleine)
Turkey Piccata
with Basil Rice Pilaf
and Baby Spinach Salad
Yogurt Panna Cotta with Raspberries

Oh, and a bottle of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that we’ve had on the counter for the last week…

Apple support rocks, redux

OK.

So my iBook had issues that needed to be fixed by Apple. Bad logic board, essentially. So I call and get the box dispatched, and DHL picks it up on Monday afternoon, at 4:30 (I know because the knocks on the door woke me up). It’s now 6:15 in the morning on Wednesday, and it’s already in FedEx’s sorting facility here in Austin (on its way back to me, you see).

Can I say “wow”?
